The worst part of travel....the actual travel

Long travel days are not pleasant. The overcrowded bus, border crossings, immigration officials, long lines, bad roads, no air conditioning...after 10 long hours we have finally arrived in Bangkok! The journey started with a change of plans when our passports didn't get back from the Thai embassy in time and we had to exchange our bus tickets for a later trip. Oh well, we are here now and ready for New Year's Eve tonight. I doubt we will stay out until midnight, but we are looking forward to checking out the scene around the Central World mall and hopefully we will catch some fireworks.

Shawn misses Cambodia already. His mountain bike rides around the remote ruins are the "coolest thing he has done on this trip". Baylie and I enjoyed one last trip to the orphanage. We took them a bag of art supplies and some school notebooks and pencils. It was a small gesture, but we definitely wanted to leave something.

We are looking forward to our second go-around in Thailand. Now that we have our 60 day visas we can just explore without worrying about having to make a "visa run" to the border. First thing on the agenda is to find a beautiful beach to take the place of Bali!
