Mamma Mia, Here I Go Again

A post 12 years in the making

Here's the beginning of a post I made in 2011:

In the past two years, since my last post here, I have done a couple of friends' trips, one to the Florida Keys and one to the Bahamas. Both were fantastic little vacations with the most fun group of friends in the world. I also did a quick little hop to Costa Rica for a week that was an experiment that didn't quite work.

Now FINALLY I get to go somewhere new and also finish that journey to a couple of Greek islands. And the best part is that I have been worried for a while that the last trip I took with my best travel partner might have actually been the LAST big trip we would ever do together. I was probably being overly dramatic I guess, but lives change and time slips through your fingers and I had begun to think that a major mother/daughter window of opportunity had actually closed. I saw a post somewhere once that said something like, "One day you put down your child and you never picked them back up again." It made me think of all the little "lasts" that go unnoticed at the time. Anyway, I didn't mean to get sidetracked down a sentimental rabbit hole! Let's just say I am thrilled to get another chance with my favorite burst of sunshine, Baylie 😊

As always, I assume the only audience for this little travel journal is just me someday in the future reading it with nostalgia through my teary eyes, but if there's anyone else out there who is inclined to follow along feel free to say hi! We leave on July 2nd for a week in Croatia and then about nine days in Greece. I'm excited to be traveling, and posting, again! 🌍
