Mastering the Metro!

Since we moved to a hotel on the outskirts of the city we had to master the metro system to get anywhere. We succeeded of course! We had a fun day at the Madrid zoo and then asked around for directions to a public pool. We had to walk a lot through neighborhood to finally find it, but it was worth it. Baylie saw this set up at a mall last night where you could get inside a giant inflatable "hamster ball" floating in a big pool. She HAD to try it; it was pretty hilarious. Getting to the train station this morning for our 5 hour journey south was a mad rush; now that we're finally adjusted to Spanish time getting up and packed at 6 was a challenge. Tomorrow we're going to a beach in Tarifa that's famous for kite surfing- any bets on how long it will take Shawn to find one to rent?

That's a HUGE pool. Hot weather?

by Laura Moore

Hey Laura! You can only see about 2/3 of the pool in that pic! There was also an olympic lap pool and a kids pool. The whole complex was gigantic! It has been SUPER hot and slightly more humid than we're used to, so the pool was a great find.

Baylie looks so happy (and cool!) What fun! I was hoping to see her in the hamster ball....or Shawn! How funny. You've GOT to get a kite-flying picture when he goes up. xoxo

I don't know why I'm surprised it is hot any other place outside Bakersfield, but it catches me off guard.

That pool looks more like a small lake! If you go to Barcelona be sure and go to the area La Rambla. It is the old area and so cool. Dusty is not outside and loves it. She and our dog are good buddies too. Pismo likes my lap! Have fun.
