Monaco - Shawn's "Formula 1-derful Day"

Shawn has spent years watching the Formula 1 races from around the world; the most famous being the one in Monaco, I guess. He has been pretty excited to take a day trip there and see the streets that he knows so well from TV (and from his very realistic F1 video game). Once we were there he seemed a little surprised he didn't just automatically know his way around town. He did recognize a few corners, but I really wish he had taken the tour that would have driven through the whole route. I'm afraid Monaco was a little bit of a let down for him. Fortunately we do plan on being in Italy at the right time for him to see the next Formula 1 race on Ferrari's home turf.
We enjoyed seeing the palace and the cathedral where Princess Grace is buried. We also walked by the famous Monte Carlo casino, but you can't just walk in. You have to pay a pretty steep cover charge to be allowed to go in and lose money. The yachts in the harbor were pretty fancy, but I didn't kcatch a glimpse of any celebrities.2011-09-02_03-08-59_149

Wow! I'm impressed, I've never been to Monaco. Shawn and Baylie look like celebs to me. How do you all wear something different in each picture when you just have a backpack???? You all look wonderful. Love the blogs, they start my day.

That's funny you say that about the clothes Toots! I'm finally washing a load of things that have all been worn SEVERAL times! Shawn wants me to post about the miracle of wool socks - we just keep wearing them and we swear they don't stink! Haha!

Sounds like you are all having the time of your life. And what an experience for Bailey; world schooling.
