Last Day in Milan

We are leaving this fashionable city tomorrow morning on the 9:00 am train to Venice. Shawn successfully made it to the Formula 1 race (and back). He says he had a great day being a "tifosi" (which he says means "crazy Italian Ferrari fan"). He was pretty excited that after the race everyone ran out onto the track, he demonstrated for us how he jumped around like a happy little kid. Glad we put this stop into the itinerary.
Baylie and I had a great day. We saw the most amazing cemetery in the world! Whatever you would imagine an old Italian cemetery FILLED with monuments and statues would look like, it seemed more spectacular than that. It was called the Il Cimitero Monumentale. I guess a cemetery isn't any stranger than visiting a museum or old church, right? Now that I am describing how cool it was it seems a little odd.
So one observation from Milan that I wonder if we will see in other parts of Italy: the super high fashion lady, all dressed up with her hair and make-up perfectly done, wearing 4-inch heels...riding a bicycle, often with a large basket containing a small dog.
I know Baylie and I will continue to sample gelato throughout Italy! Our favorite so far, coconut.

So glad Shawn got to do his thing. I looked up the cemetary....truly amazing! I can't imagine the many things yet to come for you!! Do you feel like you might wake up soon? xoxo

I like walking around old cemetaries, too. Not weird at all. Glad to see Shawn is picking up the language:-)

So glad Shawn was able to see the races and so glad you are all in such great shape and able to walk as far as you do. The catacombs in Rome would be a real experience for you, Baylie would love wandering around underground to see those. Lake Como is supposed to be the beauty spot of Italy. I can't wait to get your blog on Venice and of coarse Florence was definitely one of my favorites. I'm so ENVIOUS!!!!! Love you three.

We love a good old cemetary. They're rarely crowded and usually beautiful. Can't wait to see pictures from Venice!
