Incredible Venice!
It's exactly as you imagine it would be.

We took the shuttle from the camping village into Venice this morning. As soon as we got there we hopped on vaporetto #1 and cruised all the way down the Grand Canal to the Piazza San Marco. Absolutely gorgeous! Every bridge, every little side canal, the gondoliers, the classy wooden speed boats...just what I had pictured in my imagination. Once we got off the boat we walked through a million tourists and went through the Basilica San Marco, which was stunning but the crowds took a little bit away from the enjoyment. The most fun was when we decided to just wander the narrow little side streets. We tried snacks that caught our eye and Baylie even bought an actual souvenir. We're going to experiment with shipping something home and see just how pricey and complicated it really is.
